Our focus is comprehensive eye care including cataract surgery, screening and referral for lasik surgery, diabetic eye care, glaucoma treatment, as well as treatment of any other diseases or injuries to the eye. We also sell and fit all types of contact lenses. Read below for a little bit of information on the services we provide.
Doctors Jerkins, Scott and Taylor perform cataract surgery using the state-of-the-art small incision technique and a variety of implants that are marketed today. The surgery center is conveniently located next door at St. Thomas Hospital.
Our physicians treat all types of eye disease including glaucoma and macular degeneration. We provide on-site diagnostic testing, laser therapy, and surgical treatment.
Acute injuries of all degrees are managed by all of the physicians. As we are associated with St. Thomas Hospital, we are prepared for needed interventions.
We sell all types of contact lenses including hard and soft lenses, and disposable lenses. See our section on contacts for more information on fittings and lens types.
Our doctors treat patients beginning at 4 years of age. We strive to perform a complete exam, make accurate diagnoses, and provide excellent care in a timely manner.
In order to serve your eyes appropriately, please allow 1-2 hours for new patient and yearly eye examinations. The exam includes medical history, visual acuity, your medical history and visual testing for glasses (refraction), as well as an evaluation for glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal diseases. Fitting for contact lenses are scheduled separately.
To detect any problems or diseases, your pupils will be dilated. This may cause your near vision to be blurred or light sensitive for about two hours. If you are driving, dark sunglasses will be provided.
We remain open during lunch, however, please call first if you are a contact lens patient or if you are having your glasses checked during lunch hours.
The physicians of Nashville Vision Associates, PLC, are Medicare Participating Physicians accepting assignment on all covered medical and surgical procedures. Patients are responsible for their deductibles, co-insurance, and non-covered services.
